Mark your calendars – we’re walking again on February 28th, 2026 for the Coldest Night of the Year.
Join Food for Life for a fun, meaningful walk to raise awareness and funds to support our work nourishing those experiencing homelessness, hurt and hunger.
Because it’s cold out there…
Food for Life is the largest food rescue hub in Halton and Hamilton, ensuring neighbours have access to fresh, nutritious food. Since 1995, we’ve rescued over 35 million pounds of food — valued at more than $113 million — and redirected it to where it’s needed most.
Each week, we support 4,500 households through nearly 100 programs — from market-style distributions and Fresh Food Fridges to lockers and seniors’ pop-ups — all grounded in dignity, accessibility, and connection.
By rescuing surplus food, we not only feed people but also protect the planet. Our commitment to sustainability runs through everything we do — from composting to using reusable crates and repurposed rainwater — reducing our footprint while amplifying our impact.
