Individual

Program Volunteers

Volunteers can commit to supporting a program once a week, or once a month. As a program volunteer you are engaging with neighbours, while handing out food. You will support the set up and take down of the program. Please note, these positions are limited and only available should a vacancy come up.

Fresh food Packer

This packing role is mission-critical, so we need to ensure we have the volunteer power to make it happen each week. The minimum age for our volunteers is 14, or 12 if accompanied by an adult. Each shift we are looking for 8-10 volunteers that will work together as a team to sort and pack fresh food to be delivered to our community programs and agency partners. Some heavy lifting is required (up to 50 lbs).

Market Volunteer

Market Volunteers assist in our markets to provide those in need in Halton and Hamilton access to fresh food. Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks including greeting, welcoming and directing neighbours; sorting, stocking and preparing food for the market; assisting neighbours in the market as well as weighing food at check-out.
Market Volunteers

Volunteer Driver Assistants

We are currently looking for on-call drivers and volunteer driver assistants. On-Call drivers must have a clean drivers abstract and friendly customer service skills. As a driver or assistant you are responsible for the following;​ Assist with loading and unloading food from vehicle, assist with packing or re-packing food in containers or bags, weighing containers of food, the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs, good mobility so you are able to climb in and out of the truck. Hours will vary depending on the day of the week.
